PUBLIC HEARING — Legal Notice PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the board of trustees of the village of Parish will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at the village hall in the village of Parish, New York.
The purpose of the meeting is to review both the village general fund and sewer fund budgets.

The quarterly sewer bills have been sent out due 1/15/23.
Please note in-office payments can be made between 8:30am and 2pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday to the Village Clerk. All payments need to be exact and in full as no partial payments will be accepted.
PLEASE NO PAYMENTS ARE TO BE DROPPED IN THE COURT BOX ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE BUILDING! That is checked by the court only and we cannot guarantee the payment will make it to the Village clerk.
*Feel free to call the Village Clerk during her office hours to see if she will be available earlier or later during the week for drop offs. Her extra office hours change weekly so just give her a ring to see what her plans are*
The village of Parish will hold its quarterly wastewater treatment plant meeting at 6:00 p.m. today at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street, Parish, New York 13131. The public is welcome to attend.
The regular October meeting of the Parish village board, scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street, Parish, New York, and which will be open to the public for in-person attendance, will also be offered to the public via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83772394807

Note that the regular October meeting will be preceded by two public hearings, on funding for the wastewater treatment plant, and on considering opt-out of adult use cannabis in the village. These start at 6:30 p.m., and at the same web link posted and meeting ID.
The Parish Village Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. at 2938 East Main St. Parish, N. Y. in the Village Gym.
The purpose of the Hearing is for consideration of adoption of a Bond Resolution for the Village of Parish to borrow funds for improvements at the wastewater treatment plant.

Here is a picture of a grinder pump we pulled out of a Montgomery Street Address. These are “flushable” wipes, paper towels, rags and tampons, all of which should not be put down the toilet. This clogs the pump, makes it work way too hard and eventually the pump stops working. The pump cost the village $2,000 plus the labor to pull the old pump and install the new pump. Flushable wipes are flushable but so is a tee shirt; the only thing that should go down the toilet is toilet paper and human waste.
NO paper towels, tampons, flushable wipes, diapers, rugs (we did pull a pump that had parts of the bathroom rug lodged in the unit).
This is too costly!! These all need to go into the trash, not the toilet.
Please take note that these are the kinds of problems that take place inside a grinder pump and cost so much for repair/replacement.
This is a repeat occurrence and results from complete negligence and irresponsible behavior. There is no reason for this kind of situation to occur. It is too expensive of a problem to repeatedly have to deal with.
We appreciate those households who have made every effort to prevent these grinder pumps problems from happening. These pumps should last at least five years with normal usage. Let’s try to keep our costs to a minimum and prevent the need for pump replacement. We can if each household works to do their best.

As Executive Orders allowing remote participation by municipal officials via Zoom have expired, all town and village board members must be physically present at the meeting in order to be able to vote.
